Joker Review…Something Different

-“All it takes is one bad day…and the mind as you know can be fragile, like gravity all the mind needs is a gentle tap to fall into madness.”

Hello good people of instagram. I have only done a handful of reviews for movies. The amount is as much as I can count on my two hands and aside from the miscellaneous stand alone action or mystery films the rest I have done are marvel based. Now before I begin this review the first segment is NON-SPOLIER! The second segment which will be marked ahead of time before you continue reading will not be non-spoiler as minor as the spoilers may be. Enjoy the read and leave any thoughts or comments below. Read at your own risk.

————————————NON-SPOILER REVIEW————————————–

Firstly I think most people can agree that we were not pleased with the portrayal of Joker in Suicide Squad. It was horrible in my opinion and took away a lot of the true characteristics of joker, I was severely disappointed. I did not know much about the actor Joaquin Phoenix and low to mid expectations of the movie itself going in only moderately hyped by the trailers. However I can personally say this movie is a must see. I blew my expectations away and the portrayal is unlike we have ever had and I have to say out of respect and in remembrance of Heath Ledger, he would be both proud and pleased of this new performance. This movie was dark, symbolic, in depth, and kept it real. Something that holds true to what DC is supposed to be. I would watch this movie and have the rate a 10/10 knowing how complex this role is. If you are on the fence or think that nothing can be up to par since the Dark Knight trilogy you are wrong and should give this movie a chance.  It is truly a gritty, dark, and realistic , TAXI-DRIVER-esque depiction of one man’s descent into madness.

—————————————–SPOILER REVIEW—————————————-

For all of those getting to this point, holy crap! I still feel like words still cannot adequately describe what we saw. The movie definitely does not hold back any punches. From killing his first victims in the subway, to killing the next and leaving a “finish the ending for yourself” when it reveals how the “girlfriend” was never truly with him to begin with and even killing his mother to the encounter with his “brother” bruce. It was spine chilling and jaw dropping. Although batman was not in this movie the ending was increible, made so much sense and truly forever bound their fates so to speak. There is so much to say about this movie which is why we will be covering everything we can in our next upcoming podcast. Tune in @tk_tomfoolery

Spoiler Review: Spider-Man Far From Home

Spider-Man Far From Home was an exhilarating movie to watch! This was truly the movie to mark the true end of the infinity saga. Let me start first by saying that Peter’s journey that he had to go through in the aftermath of both infinity war and the death of Tony Stark was portrayed in way like no other. Dealing with grief, the loss of another mentor, the media, post traumatic stress, and the pressure of being the next iron man or lead avenger, its a true coming of age story. Mysterio was crafted in a way where him becoming a villain was not as obvious as everyone thought. The implementation of a multiverse was crafted in a way where until edith was given away no one suspected that mysterio had been doing illusions the entire time. The visuals for mysterio and the fight scenes between that had to be some of my favorite parts. I had not been so captivated like that since Doctor Strange. That’s not even getting into the end credit scenes. This movie is a must watch. Sorry for the delay as I’ve been enjoying my time off from school taking a break. With all that said there will be updates to the posts that have been made. We are now officially available on pockectcasts (which also gives you an rss link to listen on apple podcasts), google podcasts, anchor, and breaker. We were on spotify but were taken down and we are currently working on getting our podcast up and running again on that platform. A link will be updated for our avengers endgame podcast

End Game Non-spoiler Review

Part of the journey is the end…That’s the whole point isnt’t it? Every since I was four years old my dad has taken me to see marvel movies and it all kicked off with Spider-Man (portrayed by Tobey Maguire). Granted he was MCU cannon at the time but still, the prominent figure both on screen and within comics was Spider-Man. However, There were still two iconic characters that really drafted me into comics and the MCU as a whole. Iron Man and Captain America. Not to mention that the actors for each are phenomenal and just like Hugh Jackman portraying Wolverine, there will never be others like them and they are perfect for the role they were given. Coming out of the theater for #Avengers:Endgame I had a reaction that I didn’t think could be topped by Infinity War. All I can say is that this a Marvel movie giving EVERYTHING fans want and need. It’s literally a movie that will go down in history and is everything you’ve dreamed a marvel movie could be! They may not be real, but they helped instill in me how to care, how to love. They taught me how to dream, how to live for others, how to seek adventure. They helped me to look at life from  a new perspective, and find my real friends, my own strength. Therefore, they are real to me. See it, watch, bring your friends, enjoy, laugh, cry, and talk about it, but don’t spoil it. Thank to all the fans, actors and creators. Thank you for being part of our universe. We love you 3000. Embrace the future…

END GAME HAS ARRIVED

“You know your teams. You know your missions. No mistakes, no do-overs. Look out for each other…this is the fight of our lives.” With that said, don’t spoil this movie for others within the marvel community, please. Stay safe out there and have a good time. Forge a memory with friends and others alike, this is it. The night we’ve been anticipating for months! Lets do this!

Episode X: Thor Ragnarok & Dr. Strange

The Ancient One: “You think you know how the world works? You think that this material universe is all there is? What is real? What mysteries lie beyond the reach of your senses? At the root of existence, mind and matter meet. Thoughts shape reality. This universe is only one of an infinite number. Worlds without end. Some benevolent and life giving. Others filled with malice and hunger. Dark places where powers older than time lie ravenous… and waiting. Who are you in this vast multiverse, Mr. Strange? …Death is what gives life meaning. To know your days are numbered. Your time is short. You’d think after all this time, I’d be ready. But look at me. Stretching one moment out into a thousand… just so that I can watch the snow.”
